Today is a great day to make a memory - Paige Evans Oh my Heart Collection

Hi there,  I want to share a page that I made nearly two months ago.  I used some cute photos of Stefan and the Paige Evans Oh my Heart collection.  The layout is based on Cariena's layout and sketch that was published in the Scrap Affairs Issue 52.

Supply list:  Patterned paper:  Paige Evans (Oh my Heart); Cardstock:  American Craft; Chipboard:  Celebr8; Embroidery Floss:  DMC; Mist:  Prima Bloom (Iris); Embossing Paste:  Wendy Vecchi; Stencil:  Celebr8; Embossing Powder: Lindy's (Oakleaf Olive), Wow (Rose Gold)

Some close ups:

I fussy cut the flowers from one of the patterned papers and stitched onto the flowers.  I attached it popping up some of the petals and leaves onto foam dots.

The Celebr8 title was just inked in black.  The stenciling was done with texture paste and a Celebr8 stencil.

I adore this Celebr8 chipboard heart.  So much that I have quite a few on in my stash.  I first applied texture paste roughly to the one half and let it dry before heat embossing it with rose gold embossing powder.

I used the same technique on the little hearts...I love the stitched flowers.

Some more stenciled work...the ink splatter was a happy accident.  I don't normally splatter but while I was shaking the bottle of Prima Color Bloom Mist I didn't notice that the top wasn't tightly closed and the result was a mess on my page.

I love the rose gold accents in this collection and that is why I decided that heat embossing all the chipboard pieces with rose gold was the way to go.

...and this is proof that it is just fine to use flowers on boy pages too.

Super Kids - CSI 231

Hi there.  Today I am playing along with the Color Story Inspiration case file 231. This page is something totally different...but it was fun to put together. The photo I am using are of my two smallest grandsons Stefan and Juan.  They were wearing super hero onesies and they will always be my little super heros.  Here is the page I made:

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Kaisercraft (Finders Keepers), Studio Calico; Cardstock: American Craft; Vellum: American Craft; Wood Veneer: Studio Calico; Brads: Simple Stories (Posh); Enamel heart:  Illustrated Faith; Clear Stickers: Amy Tan; Mediums: Texture Paste, yellow acrylic paint;  Stencil: The Crafters Workshop;  Other: Silhouette Cameo (Title and Rosettes)

The case file:

This is how I solved the case file:

The Sketch:  used

The Scheme:  All colours used.

Evidence:  White background, stripes, animals, googl eyes, starburst, stars, hearts

Testimony:  I  used the word Super in my "Super Kids" title.  My journaling is a quote by Batman:  "A hero can be anyone.  Evan a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know that the world hadn't ended."

Some close ups:

I applied some yellow coloured texture paste through a stencil on the background to add the starburst.

This title is from the Silhouette store...and I added some googly eyes to the capital letters.

The Rosettes and the "Kaboom" cut file is also from the Silhouette Store.

I love this quote as the journaling.

Happy - February 2017 Hip Kit

Hallo there.  Today I want to share a page that has been in process for the past week.  The photos were taken at he Knysna Heads in April this year.  In the past week this area has been devastated by uncontrolled fire and so many people have lost everything they own.  My heart goes out to everyone that is affected.  This page is based on the latest Stuck sketch challenge.  Here is my page:

Supply list:  Patterned papers:  Maggie Holmes (Chasing Dreams), Crate Paper (Oasis), Dear Lizzy (Lovely Day); Cardstock:  American Craft; Chipboard:  Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams; Stickers: Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams; Enamel hearts: My Minds Eye; Die Cuts: Maggie Holmes (Chasing Dreams), Pretty Little Studio (with all my heart); Twine: Coats; Paint:  White acrylic; Other: Doilies from my stash.

The sketch:

Some close ups:
I decided to use the aqua cardstock and I just dry brushed white acrylic paint to give it an airy feel.

How beautiful is this Chasing Dreams collection.  I adore the chipboard pieces...so pretty.

Initially I wanted to add clouds to the top of the page...but the dry brushing of white paint turned out perfectly.

I tried to mimic the colour of the water of the Knysna lake.  I don't normally do much tearing but I am really happy with how this turned out.

This Smile - January 2017 Hip Kit

Hallo there.  I am sharing a page of my littlest grandson today.  My two smallest grandsons were born 3 months apart and they have been inseparable from day one.  The two of them also have this code...they hide when the camera comes out.  They WILL NOT smile or even look at the camera...this provided us with a problem of note when we had a grandparents photo shoot with our six blessings. The peachy patterned paper was taken from the Hip Kit December kit.  Fortunately the photographer was more than patient and in the end we got the shots we wanted.  Here is my page:

Supply list:  January Hip Kit exclusives, One Canoe Two (Hazelwood); Paige Evans (Fancy Free- peach paper), Paige Evans (Oh my heart - dark blue paper); Cardstock:  American Craft; Letter Stickers:  Hip Kit Exclusive, American Craft; Wood Veneer stars: Studio Calico; Clear Stickers: Pink Paislee; Paper Clip:  American Craft; Brads: My Minds Eye, Teresa Collins; Buttons: Basic Grey; Embroidery Floss: DMC;  Twine: WeR Memory Keepers; Ink: Distress Ink (Dried Marigold and Tattered rose); Stencil:  The Crafters Workshop; Border punch: Fiskars; Quickutz star dies.

I had to combine dried marigold and tattered rose distress ink to get the right color for my stenciling.

I adore the effect of the stitching on my pages.

The clear stickers nearly disappear on the photo but that is alright.

My photos are double matted and some of them are popped up on foam for dimension.

Isn't he too cute...I am so blessed to have my grandies in my life.
